Reasons and Opinions of Students Learning English as a Foreign Language about Learning the Target Culture

This study aims to compare the opinions of optional and compulsory preparatory class students about learning English target culture. Furthermore, students’ reasons learn are examined in terms independent variables (gender, going abroad status prep class). In present study, data gathered through a questionnaire fall term 2021-2022 academic year. Data obtained from 150 participants analyzed via SPSS 25. Descriptive statistics inferential conducted. Findings show that motivated both instrumentally an integrative way. addition, there is no statistically significant effect on attitudes towards As result, this current offers guidance for teachers while they preparing their teaching materials. That is, should consider not only culture British or American but also focus other cultures.
